My company just finished our first ever virtual conference last week. I have to say, I think it is the hardest I’ve ever worked throughout my entire career. We wanted to deliver great content in a digestible way that wasn’t boring, encouraged engagement and interactivity, but also could be available on-demand so attendees could watch at their convenience.
We went with pathable for the platform to build our virtual conference on through ConferenceDirect. I have to say, there were little to no hiccups throughout the entire process. Here is a quick preview below of the site in case you are interested.
The site will not be live after 12 months and you have to be a registered attendee in order to access all the bells and whistles, so I thought I would share a screen capture so you can get the overall idea.
I think a big thing for our attendees is they loved the speakers being available during the scheduled session time to answer questions via the chat. That gave it more of a “face-to-face” feel, and sometimes asking a question in a packed auditorium can be intimidating.
Also, with the virtual conference platform, we were able to capture so many more metrics and analytics vs an in-person meeting, so we can see what works and doesn’t work regarding conference content for future planning.
My role: I was responsible for all videos / session videos and the design / build out of this site on the platform. It was so stressful, but I am proud to see it now and happy everyone enjoyed the conference!
